Sustainability has been a real trend topic for some years now. Today, we will introduce you holistically environmentally conscious and socially responsible hotel acting as real role models for lived sustainability.

Just a buzzword?

Do you know that the concept of sustainability dates back to 1713? Carl von Carlowitz, a Prussian chief miner, coined the term in his work “Silviculture oeconomica”. He used it to describe that only as many trees should be felled as can grow back. Logical, really – isn’t it? But Earth Overshoot Day reminds us every year that we unfortunately consume more resources than we have available. For Germany, this day was already reached on May 5, 2021. Today, we are living well beyond our means. But how can we change this? The hoteliers of our Green Pearls® Hotels agree that they want to take responsibility and act as sustainably as possible every day.

100% vegetarian

A special concept is implemented at Paradiso Pure.Living on the Alpe di Siusi. The 100% vegetarian hotel wants to inspire you to take new ideas home like yoga with a view of the mountains, art exhibitions and, of course, lots of good pure vegetarian food. Even if you don’t usually eat vegetarian, the delicious dishes are definitely a good incentive to give it a try.

Good for body and soul

At Naturhotel Outside a lot revolves around good nutrition. The love for the region of East Tyrol and nature plays an important role. The products that Verena Ganzer uses in the kitchen are sourced regionally. In the 600 m2 Spa area you find a place and time to unwind. Natural remedies, such as mountain hay allow relaxation for body and mind.

Ideas to follow

The SCHWARZWALD PANORAMA lives sustainability. Owner Stephan Bode constantly optimizes the processes in the hotel and strives for sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions. Therefore, you can compensate the CO2 consumption of your overnight stays, meetings and weddings and enjoy climate-neutral. Let yourself be inspired by the many great ideas. In the sustainability ABC on the hotel website, you will find everything that the hotel is already implementing.

Pioneer since 1985

We always enjoy writing about Tongsai Bay. This is also because the sustainable concept of the hotel in Thailand was implemented at the beginning in 1985 – a real pioneer. The father of current owner Khun Akorn Hoontrakul slept for three months at the beach to find the best places to stay, so no trees had to be cut down during construction. Today, the hotel supports many regional projects and local animal welfare.

Slow-Travel in the Maira Valley

The perfect accommodation for all slow-travelers among you is the Locanda Mistral in the Maira Valley. Lots of nature and untouched mountain landscapes combined with local delicacies. Owner and mountain guide Renato Botte will happily show you his home and the power that lies in the simplicity of things.
