A long walk in the forest is definitely part of autumn. With a lot of sunshine, we discover the many colors on the trees and let the leaves rustle softly under our shoes. Join our journey full of autumn magic in the enchanted valleys around our Green Pearls® hotels.

Sporty along the Jagst

First, we take you to the north of Baden-Württemberg where the small river Jagst, a tributary of the Neckar, after which the Jagst Valley is named, flows. Very close to the 190 kilometers long river, one of our green pearls, the Mawell Resort is located. The region is known for its unspoiled nature and many local specialties like free-range Swabian-Hallic country pigs, vineyards, small towns and villages with medieval castles. You can also explore the Jagst by bike from on the Kocher-Jagst cycle path. If you prefer to walk, we recommend the Jagst Culture Trail, on which you can visit some churches and chapels. Back at the Mawell, the spacious SPA area with a view of nature awaits you.

Relaxing in the Balderschwang Valley

Our next stop takes us to Balderschwang, which sits at 1,044 meters above sea level. Here in the Allgäu mountains, you stay at the HUBERTUS Mountain Refugio Allgäu, which finally reopened fully on May 21 after an avalanche accident two years ago and subsequent renovation. The hotel is located in the middle of the cross-border Nagelfluh Nature Park between Germany and Austria. Discover the impressive nature of the Balderschwang valley with the surrounding majestic peaks of the Nagelfluh range. On the alpine pastures there is an incredible biodiversity with about 290 different plant species. Recharge your batteries in this unique nature, which radiates a special atmosphere, especially in autumn. The concept of “Holistic Lifestyle” from the HUBERTUS Mountain Refugio Allgäu supports you with a variety of offers to relax.

Lots of action in the Fleimstal

Another great place to relax is the Val di Fiemme. Nestled in the Dolomites, you will find the Eco Park Hotel Azalea in the small town of Cavalese. All year round, there is a wide range of sports and leisure activities. In autumn, you can enjoy the crystal-clear mountain air while climbing, mountaineering or hiking. In winter, watch the cross-country ski race “Marcialonga” or venture out yourself on the slopes of the four ski areas in Val di Fiemme. Also, the culture lovers among you will not miss out because there are many beautiful art-historical places to discover, where you can learn more about the history of the over 1,000-year-old alpine valley. You will also be spoiled from a culinary point of view: local specialties such as wine, bacon, cheese or crisp apples are offered in numerous small farms and stores. Of course, the products are especially fresh during the harvest season in autumn.
