Barefoot - Hotels where you can get further without shoes

Barefoot – in these hotels you can walk without shoes

Taking off your shoes and enjoying the freedom of your feet is especially easy on vacation. From barefoot resorts to Kneipp pools, our Green Pearls® Hotels do everything to relax your feet.

Healthy without shoes

Walking barefoot stimulates the many receptors and small muscles in our feet. The shoes in which we spend so much time prevent these muscles from working properly. By walking without shoes you also promote the stability of your joints. It is best to move in protected areas because without shoes you expose your feet to small risks such as broken glass or small stones. If you are not used to walking barefoot, you should approach them slowly to avoid excessive effort.

Many of our sustainable hotels have protected areas, such as barefoot paths. Often there are also the health-promoting Kneipp pools. The priest Sebastian Kneipp discovered the healing effects of hydrotherapy in the 19th century. He developed 120 different water therapies which stimulate the blood circulation through changing temperatures and thus promote the metabolism. The other four pillars of the Kneipp cure are inner balance, herbal treatments, exercise, and nutrition. As you can see, this is an up-to-date form of therapy that strengthens general health.

Berghotel Rehlegg Northern Black Forest

Beautiful feet in the mountains

The Berghotel Rehlegg used the forced break in the Corona period productively. In the process, a new barefoot path including a Kneipp basin was created in the beautiful mountain scenery. The treatment and foot massage by the hotel’s “herbal fairy” is an absolute must. Let yourself be pampered with homemade bath salts and herbal cream. Perhaps you would also like to book a pedicure, then you will definitely have “Scheene Fiaß” (nice feet), as they say in Rehlegg.

The SCHWARZWALD PANORAMA has a large spa area, but no in-house Kneipp facility. You can use the facility in Bad Herrenalb for this purpose. You can reach it by foot from the hotel. The perfect relaxation for your strained feet after a hike in the beautiful scenery of the Black Forest.

The path of the barefoot park in Dornstetten-Hallwangen is almost a little hike of its own. Over 2.4km total distance, you can walk over a wide variety of floor coverings such as wood, clay or gravel. The park is located about half an hour’s drive from our Green Pearls® partner Hotel Lamm. The park is also highly recommended for an adventure day with children, as there are several other attractions such as a water playground.

The barefoot resorts

The Zeavola Resort in Thailand is also called Barefoot Resort and that is a barefoot luxury because the sand of limestone is extremely fine. When the rainy season comes to an end, the employees spread it out on the paths of the resort. The reception, restaurants, and spa are also barefoot areas. There you will find pleasant tropical hardwoods, which is good for your feet.

The motto of Gili Lankanfushi on the Maldives is: “No News, No Shoes”. Already on your arrival on the boat to the island, you will get a bag for your shoes, which you will not need during your stay. The white sandy beaches invite you to leave your shoes out.

You can also relax your feet in these hotels: The Naturhotel Outside in Austria has created a Kneipp path in its hotel garden. Just like the Biohotel Sturm in der Rhön, in whose garden there has been a barefoot path since 2018. The Locanda Mistral is a completely natural place: the large garden has direct access to the Maira stream, which is ideal for cooling foot baths.

Enjoy a shoe-free break and feel the direct connection to the ground and nature.

Few shoes in your luggage mean a lighter suitcase.
