BACK TO NATURE: ECO BEACH TENT IN INDONESIA

The wooden huts inspire me the most. They were handmade with love and developed to fit harmoniously into nature. The architectural concept was taken from traditional houses. Only local woods were used to build the “tents” and only driftwood was used at best. The impact on the environment and the natural habitat was to be kept as low as possible. Being close to nature without having to sacrifice comfort is something that is particularly good here. All tent accommodations have a comfortable large double bed and a private bathroom. The ocean suites also have a harmoniously furnished living area and direct access to the beach.

THE BLUE LAGOON: YOUR OWN ISLAND FOR A DAY?

But once again, what about having your own island? Yes, you can actually rent an island for a whole day. The small inhabited islands just off the coast lure with paradise-like privacy. Here you have the feeling of being all alone on a lonely, paradise island, just like in the movie “The Blue Lagoon”. However, if desired with additional comfort: a soothing massage, a private picnic on a granite rock with a beautiful view, or a dinner at sunset. Or a walk to the two rocks Batu Baginda. In the local legends, these two rocks are said to be a pair, one male and the other female. A trip to the Kwan Im Goddess Temple, the oldest and largest Buddhist temple in Belitung Island, is also recommended.

CULINARY: LOCAL, FRESH, AND SUSTAINABLE

The culinary delights also leave nothing to be desired. All dishes are freshly prepared. The ingredients are freshly caught from the sea and from its own organic vegetable garden. This results in excellent local delicacies. The afternoon tea is served on the granite rock if desired. I also find it exciting: In the kitchen, there is no disposable plastic packaging. Traditionally, the leaves of the Simpur tree are used for packaging food. The leaves of this native species are large enough to wrap food in and are therefore the perfect substitute for example cling film.
