Is a cup of coffee in the afternoon enough for you or are you not responsive at all before the first sip in the morning? No matter what type of coffee you are, our partner hotels have the right beans for you. And they always pay attention to sustainability.
The coffee belt
Coffee can be grown in about 80 countries around the world. The so-called coffee belt lies between the 23rd latitude north and the 25th latitude south, the only area where the Coffea plant grows. This is the only place where the demanding plant gets the ideal conditions. Due to the different regions with different soils and weather conditions, the individual varieties taste different. The export of coffee is an important branch of the economy in many of the countries where it is grown, so you support local farmers and many other production assistants.
If you pay attention to a few things, you can enjoy coffee sustainably. Find out about the origin of the beans and make sure about certifications such as fair-trade seals. Also avoid coffee capsules, which generate a lot of environmentally harmful packaging waste.

Enjoy sustainable coffee directly in the country of cultivation
Peru is known for its environmentally friendly cultivation of coffee plants. From the Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel you can visit the coffee plantations of the so-called Coffee Route. You will learn many interesting facts about this popular drink. Afterwards you can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee at the Café Inkaterra and review your new impressions. By the way, the Coffea plant is also cultivated in the tropical garden of the hotel. Here you can get sustainably grown coffee without any CO2 pollution caused by transportation.

Sustainable coffee from regional roasting plants
Even though our other Green Pearls® hotels are not located in coffee-growing areas, the hoteliers pay attention to sustainability. They often work together with long-standing partners, such as regional roasters. The Berghotel Rehlegg obtains its coffee from the Dinzler roastery in Upper Bavaria. This is already managed as a family business in the second generation. In the SCHWARZWALD PANORAMA you will also be served coffee from a regional roasting house. The Ettli roastery is located only a few kilometers from the hotel. The Oro Caffè coffee roastery in Italy is also close to our Green Pearls® Hotel La Subida Relais.
Our partner hotels pay attention to high quality coffee from fair cultivation. The delivery distances between the roasting plants and the hotels are usually short and therefore guarantee you fresh coffee enjoyment.
