You may encounter the term “Grander water” at some of our Green Pearls© hotels. At Sturm in Mellrichstadt, for example, you can swim in this special water in the natural pond. But what exactly is it? And how scientifically sound is it? Today, we will answer these questions and tell you which of our hotels offer this feature. IMAGE ©STURM
What is Grander Water?
Grander water is water that has been “revitalized” or “animated” using a special process. The founder of this method, Johann Grander, developed the basic idea based on the principle of information transfer. Information-rich water from a copper mine in Jochberg is placed in a weakly magnetized metal housing. This water transfers its “natural impulses” to tap or bath water without coming into contact with it. This process is said to cause a structural change in the receiving water, resulting in more organized and stable molecules. Supposedly, this improves the water quality.
According to the website, Grander water has a number of positive effects: Grander water tastes better, feels pleasant on the skin and hair during bathing, makes them softer, and preserves food longer. It is also said to prevent rust and limescale buildup and reduce the need for chlorine, detergents, and cleaning agents. Some people also report a relaxing effect when bathing or positive health effects.
Is that scientific?
That sounds good, doesn’t it? Maybe even too good? The answer varies depending on who you ask. From a scientific point of view, the effectiveness of Grander water has not been proven. Although the website refers to two studies, they only mention a probiotic effect and a limescale-dissolving effect. There are no other meaningful studies on Grander water that support the claims made on the website. From a scientific point of view, Grander Water is therefore questionable at best.
Nevertheless, many people swear by “informed” water. Some of our Green Pearls® partners are among them. True to the motto “the proof is in the pudding,” you can try it for yourself on your next vacation and form your own opinion. At Hotel Okelmann’s and Hotel Luise, you can fill up with this special water at any time—at Okelmann’s, you can even fill up straight from the tap! You can also try to bath in the revitalized water in STURM’s natural pond to see if it really does have a positive effect on the softness of your skin and hair.
But what do you think? Is it ‘esoteric nonsense’, or have you had positive experiences with it? Please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
