Arequipa: city of the Peruvian highlands with village character
I spent almost a year in Peru and had the chance to become familiar with this wonderful country. Among countless tourist attractions, it is often the atmosphere that makes a place special.

Arequipa located in the South of the Andean State Peru at a height of 2300 m is the second largest city in the country with over one million inhabitants. Despite its size, it conveys a village character, especially in some areas away from the center. The fields, flat buildings and residents reflect Arequipa’s typical atmosphere. And this is exactly what makes the city unique!

At Characato, a South Eastern district, the “rural city life” is very present. Buñuelos are a must-have here! Buñuelos are a traditional sweet pastry made from flour, eggs and milk. They are freshly prepared and eaten with a variety of honeys, marmalades or sweet sauces. Delicious!
