Traveling to Georgia (the country not the US state) was a truly unforgettable experience for me: the open-minded and welcoming people were curious to get to know the travelers, the huge difference in the landscape you will experience while traveling and of course nature itself. Georgia is relatively small so you can easily see different parts of it during your stay, from cave monasteries in the South, to desert-like landscapes in the East, from rich forests to the impressive mountains of the Caucasus and beaches at the Black Sea. The pictures above were taken during our stay in Mestia in the North West of Georgia. For the small village, hiking-lovers play a very important role as there are many different routes showing you the beauty of the Caucasus. This specific trek led us over 1.100 meters in altitude up to beautiful mountain lakes, some of them even surrounded with ice fields!
